DeSmuME is a native Windows software emulator for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system. The emulator makes it possible to play Nintendo DS games on a Windows computer. You do need to find and download the read only memory, or ROM, files for the games. The emulator was originally made for developers. This is why DeSmuME is capable of running a wide range of ROMs. The emulator can run standard game ROMs, custom homebrew ROMs made by average people and even commercially distributed demo ROMs. The emulator includes an option to apply cheat codes that can make playing some games easier. DeSmuME is a little difficult to install at first due to certain library dependencies.
